Hi!! I hope everyone had a great weekend. This was one of the last weekends of the summer where we aren't traveling, so it was really nice to just relax. Back with another week of Bailey's Bites - here are my random Monday musings!
The concert we went to!
Last night, we saw Gin Blossoms and Barenaked Ladies in concert - it was such a throwback and so. much. fun. One of my mom's clients had tickets and gave them to her as a thank you. The seats were unbelievable (we were in the front row!) and I guess once you turn 30 you wear ear plugs to concerts. I went with my mom, my best friend Lindsay, and her mom.

The TV show we're watching
Omg, we just started watching Black Bird on Apple TV and we are LOVING it so far. It's a crime show about a guy who is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum-security prison, but he cuts a deal with the FBI to befriend a suspected serial killer. In order to get out of prison early, he needs to elicit a confession from the suspected serial killer to find the bodies of as many as eighteen woman. SO GOOD.
The wristlet that makes my life SO much more convenient
I know I talked about this wristlet a lot, but I SWEAR BY IT. There are so many moments where I'm taking the car seat into the house, or trying to carry a million things (groceries, baby etc.) and it's so nice being able to just put this over my wrist to keep me hands-free. It doesn't hurt that they're absolutely gorgeous, and that it's a small, woman-owned business!

We leave for Boston tomorrow!
I'm so excited. We're there for Charlie's work, but his brother and some of my close friends from college live there so I'm really looking forward to spending time with them. We're staying in downtown Boston for most of the week, then going to stay with his family (they live outside of Boston) and seeing his parents and siblings - we're doing a little joint 30th birthday celebration with them 🙂 On our Boston agenda: walking the Freedom trail, spending time at Boston Common, going to see live music, and more. I can't wait, and can't believe this is Eleanor's 7th flight.
The sunscreen powder I bought this weekend
At Sephora on Saturday, I picked up this face sunscreen powder that I've heard great things about. Sometimes when I'm out and about for the day, I have makeup on and don't want to reapply sunscreen by rubbing my face and ruin my makeup. This powder will allow me to reapply/touch up my sunscreen without having to rub my face!
The song I can't stop listening to
I have "Stick Season" by Noah Kahan on repeat lately. It just strikes a cord that I can't put into words, I loveeee it.
These lemon bars are TO DIE FOR
If you're looking for an easy dessert recipe to make this week, look no further than these lemon bars. We hosted friends for a game night this week and they made these - the texture was PERFECT and they were so, so good. The perfect summer dessert if you're getting together with friends/family, or are just in the mood to bake!
The water bottle you NEED
I can't stop telling everyone how obsessed I am with this water bottle. It keeps my drink cold for forever, but the best part is that it includes both a straw (it's built in) AND the ability to sip all from the same part. Just look at the reviews!! Some of the colors are really fun, too. It's my go-to water bottle.
Two days of solo parenting
Charlie was gone on a golf trip this week for a couple of days and WHEW, let's just say it made me appreciate all that he does even more than I already did. While watching Eleanor alone wasn't necessarily the challenge, trying to keep up with everything else on top of it definitely was - washing pump parts, keeping the house clean, keeping Lacey fed/walked, etc. It was definitely lots of moments of "wow, single parents are just absolutely amazing." Next month, I'm going to Charlottesville for an overnight trip with my best friend for a concert (my first overnight away from Eleanor!) so Charlie will be here holding down the fort and returning the favor!

We have a CPR class today!
I can't believe how close we are to starting solids with Eleanor. This afternoon my parents are coming over and we have a nurse coming to our house to do a CPR class with all of us. I'm kind of dreading it because it obviously forces you to think about the worst-case scenario with someone you love more than anyone, but I think it will help me feel that much more confident going into baby-led weaning. I'll report back on how it goes!
I hope you enjoyed this week's Bailey's Bites! Stay tuned for next week 🙂

Love this week's bites! I've already listened to the song 4 times it's so good!
Sarah says
Stop exposing your baby to so much radiation on airplanes. It can also be in airport scanners. Once in awhile is fine and normal, but your jet setting lifestyle is a bit too much for a small, developing child. Your flight to and from London was the equivalent of 2 chest X-rays on her. Poor girl.
Bailey says
Ok whacky lady! 🙂

Another great Bailey’s Bites! 🙂
