One of my favorite things about Weight Watchers is that I don’t have to sacrifice my social life in order to stay on track and stay healthy. I am an extremely social twenty-something year old; I am constantly going to happy hours, concerts, parties, etc., and I’m not going to pretend I don’t drink. I LOVE me some cocktails, and that’s not something I’m willing to give up!
That being said, when possible (unless I’m REALLY in the mood for one), I don’t like wasting my points on super sugary drinks. Alcohol in itself costs points, and I’d rather use my points on a couple more drinks than use a day’s worth of points on one drinks due to all of the sugar. I LOVE me a good margarita (you all know they’re my favorite), but I like to have lightened-up versions of the drink when possible. My favorite go-to is the sugar-free Jose Cuervo margarita mix (linked below), which I find at my local grocery store (Giant), Walmart, and sometimes at the liquor store. It has 0 calories and is 0 points total!! Throw in a shot of tequila for 3 smartpoints, and your whole drink is just 3 points!
I have a lot of people ask me how I still attend so many social/drinking events and still stay on track, so I thought I’d put together a list of my go-to drinks when I’m at the bar, or when I’m having drinks at home with friends. Here they are!
- One shot of tequila mixed with Jose Cuervo sugar-free margarita mix (3sp)
- Vodka water with a lime (3sp) – I like to bring my own little bottles of Mio or Crystal Lite liquid drops to add to these drinks!
- Diet jack and coke (3sp)
- White Claw hard seltzer (4sp)
- Corona light (3sp)
- Glass of wine (4sp) – my favorite is rose and Malbec!
