Growing up, everyone in my family will tell you that these four ingredient tuna rice avocado bowls were my absolute favorite dish for both lunch and dinner. The best part is that they take less than 5 minutes to throw together - especially if you use frozen rice, which I do! These bowls also only entail four ingredients (if you exclude the salt and pepper) that you probably already have on hand.

What you'll need to make these four-ingredient tuna rice avocado bowls
The best part of making these bowls for lunch or dinner is that you really don't need much! They are only four ingredients if you don't include the salt and pepper. The only things you need are:
- A can of tuna
- Mayonnaise (I use light mayo to keep this lower point)
- Rice
- Avocado
- Salt and pepper
That's it!

Trick to making these bowls delicious
Okay, this might sound weird, but the one thing you cannot forego in these tuna rice avocado bowls: the rice needs to be STEAMING HOT. I use the frozen Trader Joe's rice and heat it in the microwave (you could easily just make your own rice from dry rice, too!) While the rice is cooking, I drain the tuna and mix it with light mayo (you could use regular mayo here if you prefer) and lots of salt and pepper. The minute the rice comes out of the microwave, I add a cup of rice to the bowl and top with avocado and a little bit more salt and pepper. You could even make the tuna in advance and keep it in the fridge - even with the tuna cold, make sure the rice is piping hot!

Literally made this recipe last week the night before grocery day because I didn’t have anything else in the house. I had heard Bailey mention it and thought I’d give it a shot, and it was so good! So simple, and I always have all ingredients on hand. I topped mine with a drizzle of sriracha for an extra kick, will definitely be adding into the rotation.
