I'm excited to start this series of "Bailey's Bites" on my blog. I've been so uninspired by Instagram lately, and am excited to take things off of there each week! Here, I'll be sharing 5-10 random things each week - a new show/movie we've been loving, a random story, a product or recipe I've been really into, an Airbnb we stayed at, a trip we're hoping to take soon, etc. So, let's get into this week's Bailey's Bites!
The Chicks Concert
Saturday night was our most spontaneous night in a while! We had tickets to see The Chicks for months now, and we'd been so excited. We woke up Saturday morning and the weather was NASTY - it's still really difficult for me to leave Eleanor, so between that and the weather, we decided not to go. Instead, we invited friends out to dinner and enjoyed an outdoor (covered) dinner at a restaurant together while my brother and his girlfriend babysat Eleanor. When we were about to get up to leave, Charlie and I looked at each other and said "wow. It's a really nice night now..." The rain had entirely stopped. It was already 8PM so we knew it would be tight, but we decided what better night to take Eleanor to her first concert?! We sped over to my brother's, picked her up, ran home to grab my pump and her headphones/carrier, and showed up to the concert right as The Chicks were getting on stage. We got SO lucky with the easiest in/out parking space (this venue is notorious for being a nightmare to get out of). It was one of those nights that we couldn't have planned as perfectly as it ended up - it *needed* to be a spontaneous night in order for it to have worked so perfectly, and indeed it was 🙂

A random movie we watched and loved
Last night before bed, we watched Couple's Retreat with Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell. It's an older movie (from 2009), but we hadn't seen it before and we both thought it was HILARIOUS. If you're looking for an easy watch this week and haven't seen this yet, I highly recommend it!
This Trader Joe's face sunscreen is SO GOOD
If you haven't heard, the new Trader Joe's face sunscreen is supposed to be a dupe for the beloved Supergoop face sunscreen but instead of $36, it's $9! I tested it this weekend and I have to say, the texture is EXTREMELY similar. It goes on really silky like a makeup primer, and is SPF 40. I recommend grabbing one for your next beach trip 🙂 Speaking of sunscreen - I'm so excited that Eleanor will finally be able to wear it just in time for our trip to the OBX in a few weeks! We're bringing a bunch of this baby sunscreen on our trip.
Looking for bamboo baby PJs?
A friend told me about these this past week and omg, if you're looking for a Kyte BABY dupe for half the price, these bamboo baby PJs from Amazon are amazing, and just $16 a pair! I recommend stocking up! Also, as a reminder, I put together this list of all my favorite baby registry items!
A card game we've been loving lately
When Eleanor goes to bed, Charlie and I love pouring ourselves a glass of wine and playing a card game. We LOVE the game Golf - it's just played with a regular deck of cards, and the rules can be found here!
Store-bought cold brew I've been loving
When we were in Rhode Island a few weeks ago, Charlie's mom had this Stokke store-bought cold brew at their house and I LOVED it. It's more expensive than making it at home, but less expensive than my Starbucks habit, haha! If you see it at your store, it's REALLY good!
Eleanor is still sleeping in our room
This is something I did NOT think would be the case. Most of my friends moved their babies out of their rooms extremely early so that everyone could get better sleep, and I 100% thought I'd do that. She'll be six months soon, and for some reason I'm having such a hard time mentally moving her out. Something about hearing her sweet noises first thing in the morning when I wake up?! I don't know. I told Charlie she's going to be in college and I'll still have her sleeping bedside. I'll let you guys know how it goes when we finally move her!
Where I'm donating: Roe v. Wade
If you're like me and feeling helpless about last week's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, I recommend donating if you're able. I've been giving my money to the National Network of Abortion Funds, which aims to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access.
What I'm reading: It Ends With Us
I started reading It Ends With Us in London, and I've still yet to get further than a few chapters in. So far, I'm LOVING IT and have heard the best things. Really hoping I can finish it while I'm at the Outer Banks in a few weeks!
What I'm wearing: Aerie Oversized Tee
I can't get enough of this Aerie tee lately. Comes in so many colors, and is SO cute and comfortable. It's currently on sale, too! I'm really just not interested in wearing tight clothes lately, hahaha - all the comfy things. Bonus is that it's extremely nursing-friendly!
That's it! I'm excited to keep up with this each week. I hope you have a great week!

Just wondering how you’re able to keep her in your room when she is rolling? As recommendations say to switch to crib when rolling?
I’m in the same boat 🙁 my baby is just starting to roll and I don’t want to move her yet.
Bailey says
I recommend a pack and play or travel crib if you have one! 🙂
Lisa says
Couples Retreat is one of my favorite movies ever! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen it. I use one-liners from it quite frequently and get blank stares because I feel like no one has seen it! Lol
Bailey says
Omg I couldn't believe how much I loved it!!!
Amanda says
I recently tried the TJ’s sunscreen and it’s sooo good. Kroger also has a good dupe. Loved the Monday musings. <3
Carolyne says
I saw the chicks in Boston on Tuesday and they were incredible! Can’t think of a better first concert for Eleanor!
Ashley C says
This is such a fun idea! I love these little quick insights into your thoughts. Keep the Monday Musings coming!
Tracey says
Love that cold brew!!
Caitlin says
Ok definitely need to try the TJs face sunscreen, may have to make a trip specifically for it. And while I’m not a coffee drinker stok is actually so smooth and YUM. And you need to finish that CoHo book, you will immediately preorder the sequel!! 🤣
Traci says
Excited to try the cold brew, thanks for sharing! We moved our babies out of our room at various ages based on how they were sleeping and how we were sleeping, I think it’s great that you’re going with what works for you all! I will say that after a small transition period for all of us {a few nights} once they moved into their own room, we all slept better!
Ellen says
Loved this format! Especially for a Monday when life is busy!
Kourtney Sluder says
I love Couples Retreat! Or really anything with Vince Vaught, he's so funny. Definitely going to try out the sunscreen!
Ashley says
If you want a game like Golf, my family loves Play 9! It is probably played very similar. Also, Skyjo! I bought Skyjo because it has great reviews (as does Play 9), and I realized they are basically the same game with different appearances. Loved the Monday musings post 🥰
Maddy says
This was super helpful!! I cannot wait to try the TJ sunscreen and I already ordered the bamboo pjs for my son. I love this idea for Monday Musings!!!
Mandy says
I love hearing about y’all taking Eleanor places. So many moms (including me) are worried to do that sometimes. But you’re so raw and real about those experiences and it’s so encouraging! I liked reading todays Monday muse! It’s like a weekend recap
Jody says
Love this series ! Keep those musings coming.
Amanda says
I had the same feelings about moving my oldest out of his cradle and into his room. I decided he will only be this little for so long and he stayed until he was 4 months old right beside my bed.
Gonna run today to TJ’s and grab that sunscreen for our upcoming NC beach trip!
Kate says
We just moved our 4 month old to his own room and I totally understand how you’re feeling! I would have kept him with us forever if my husband didn’t have to be up for work at 5.
Also, if you are a Costco member their Kirkland canned cold brew is delicious.
Love this new segment, can’t wait till next week!
Lauren says
Love this format! Excited to try the PJ’s!
Shan M says
Ok! Love this! Was leery because I love hearing your stories and am not the hugest fan of long blog posts. So this was perfect!!! (And you know I’m still clicking around your blog to support even though long posts ain’t my thang!)

love monday musings!
Christina says
Love reading people’s opinions on brief topics! Definitely going to check out the Trader Joe’s sunscreen too!
Crystal says
I totally felt the same way with moving my son to his own room! He’s a few weeks older than Ellie and it was the night after he turned 6 months he just flat out refused to sleep in his Snoo in our room. Tried his crib and he fell right to sleep… he’s been in his own room since and I totally felt like I’d have at least a few more weeks with him 🥲 but he’s doing great and I’m glad the transition was easy at least, even though I miss him being right there! Also for sure going to grab the TJ’s sunscreen! I got hooked on supergoop after seeing you love it, so excited to try it ☺️
Gwen says
Love this! I moved last year and am no where near a TJs, but I’m definitely making a trip that way to try the sunscreen! Thanks for sharing, Bailey! 😊

Love this! I play a game similar to Golf it’s called Play Nine. One of the individuals at my job introduced to my staff and we play it all the time. We started a competition with it. It’s become my favorite game! They have an app for it to so I’m always playing.
Megan says
What a fun blog post!!! Keep ‘em coming!!

Kudos to keeping her in your room so long! We barely lasted a month lol. Definitely checking out the Pjs and the sunscreen!
Julie says
That cold brew is the BEST!! I am excited to try the TJ sunscreen! I love supergoop but obviously the price is hard to swallow. Thanks for the tip! The chicks concert sounds like such a fun time!

Bailey says
Yessss give me all the Kyte dupes lol! Selfishly because bamboo seems super soft to touch for me? Lol!
Bailey says
Hahahhaa yes - I need it all in adult sizes!!
Jackie says
This was so fun to read! Please make sure to tell people about THE hair brush and good culture cottage cheese! Those are two recs from you that have literally made my every day life better. So thank you! And happy Monday!
Bailey says
Omg. THE hair brush. Life changing!!!
Johanna says
Love to hear about you taking Ellie everywhere! That’s my goal when baby arrives in just a couple weeks! So many people say you can’t go anywhere and I love seeing that the opposite can be true. But of course we’ll see how my reality turns out!
Do you feel like you both get enough sleep and alone time with Ellie still in your room? I’m thinking baby will be out asap haha but again, won’t know my reality until it’s here 🙂
Keep up the Monday Musings!
Bailey says
Yes!! So we actually put her down in her crib for bedtime around 7, and then before Charlie and I go to bed, we quietly transfer her into the bedside bassinet 🙂 that way we have tons of alone time and can use our room freely until right when we're going to sleep. It feels like the best of both worlds, for us!
Erica says
I have an Eleanor too and just love seeing all the cool stuff you do with yours. My Eleanor was also a tall baby. Love all your content!
Michy says
Ok you’ve convinced me to give the Trader Joe’s sunscreen a try!!! My unseen sunscreen is running low and I was just about to order a new one. So perfect timing for this!
Brianne says
One of my favorite posts yet! I already can’t wait for next week! Stokke is so delicious- definitely a good trade off for Starbucks everyday 😂 also, loved your story about the concert and how a spontaneous night was wonderfully perfect!!
Nina says
Love the Monday Musings format!
e. says
when mine outgrew the mini crib in my room i moved him…. to my bed. and there he has been for 4 years now. i feel judged about it but my husband works nights so it started out as a thing that was just easier (and helped me be less anxious with the what-ifs: what if i don’t hear him cry or get out of his room, what if there’s a fire and i’m alone and can’t get to him, etc) but now we like to snuggle, so it is what it is.
i wouldn’t change a thing, honestly, and don’t really care if anyone judges me for it!
Trish thedish says
